Teppei's Guitars: Song By Song

I'm going to start looking through videos to see which guitar Teppei uses live for each song. I doubt I'll find every song, and I'm not even going to attempt Identity Crisis, but I'm going to keep updating this over time. I won't go into elaborate detail about the guitars, as I've done that already in past articles. If you've got anything to add, please do!

Note about 2009: Teppei seems to be using his ES-335 for everything that he used to play the Les Paul on.

Maybe it's on the website or listed somewhere else, but I would really love to know what gear thrice uses to record. The actual computer programs. I know they use LOGIC and programs like that, but does anyone know what exactly they use for recording.

I know they use reason a lot to write songs and to create a lot of the digital and synthesized sounds, but actual recording, no idea.

Oh and I never said how awesome an addition this was. Nice Mike!

I'd have to go back and watch it again, but I think that on the If We Could Only See Us Now DVD, Teppei mentions that he used a ghetto old Fender Prodigy to track some of the cleaner stuff on Illusion of Safety. I wanna say that he specifically mentioned using it on A Living Dance Upon Dead Minds... but I could be making that up. Anyway, saw a few blanks on your list for that album, thought that might help.

Great job on this whole blog! Awesome!

Has their live sound mellowed out? Teppei now uses an ES-339 through an AC30 instead of a Les Paul with high-output pickups through a Dual Rectifier.

Anyway, Beggars is great and worth repeated listens.

And my condolences to Teppei for the loss of his mother.

They've only "mellowed out" if by mellowed out you mean "improved drastically". They're one of the best live acts around.

i think teppei used the Jaguar baritone special in "Like moths to flame" possibly in "the earth will shake" as well. i think those are both dropped to low A. i may be wrong about "TEWS" but i know he uses the baritone for "LMTF" live. Just a little tid bit.
